SILNS

A silent visual timer for the classroom.

The room can see how long is left, and nothing goes off at the end of every activity. Put it on the board, the TV, or the tablet on your desk. $4.99 once. No subscription.

An hour, condensed. This is a session running.

  • Nothing goes off at the end

No chime, no buzz, no alarm every twenty minutes. A room that has settled into work stays settled.

  • Everyone watches the same clock

One display, on the board or the screen at the front, so nobody has to ask how long is left and nobody has to be told twice.

  • On a screen already in the room

The interactive board, the TV on the wall, a laptop or the tablet on your desk. Nothing to install — buy once and sign in anywhere.

What your client sees

Three ways to show a session.

Three ways to show the time left: a ring unwinding, the SILNS mark losing a spoke at a time, or the plain remaining time for a room that should know exactly. They are running now, in real time — the same three that come with SILNS.

    In practice

Fits the classroom you already teach in.

    No app store, no download

Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge. Nothing to download, no app store, and no updates to keep on top of.

Runs on the phone in your pocket

Phone, iPad, Android tablet, laptop, Chromebook, or the browser built into a smart TV.

One tap, straight to your timers

Opens full screen like an app, straight to your timers, with no browser bar around it.

The board at the front becomes the clock

Open SILNS on the board or the classroom TV, type the code it shows into your phone, and both run the same session. Your phone stays the control.

Keeps time even when the wifi does not

Once it is open the timer runs on the device itself. If the wifi drops mid-session, it does not notice.

A lesson in segments, set before it starts

Ten minutes of reading, twenty of work, five to pack away. Set the whole lesson before it starts and it runs straight through, or waits for you to tap on.

    Before you buy

Everything you are likely to ask.

Does it make a sound at the end of an activity?

No. SILNS is silent by default — no chime, no buzz, no notification. There is an optional tone you can switch on for a particular timer, and it stays off until you do.

Can the whole class see it?

Yes. Open SILNS on the board or the classroom TV and it fills the screen. The plain remaining time is the display for a room that should know exactly how long is left.

Can I set up a whole lesson at once?

Yes. A sequence is a lesson in segments in the order they run — ten, then twenty, then five — set up before it starts. It can run straight through or wait for you to tap on.

Do I have to install anything, or ask IT?

No. SILNS runs in the browser already on the machine — Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge. There is nothing to download and no app store to go through.

    Does it work without wifi?

Yes. Once SILNS is open the timer runs on the device itself, so a connection dropping mid-lesson changes nothing. It also survives the screen locking or the page reloading.

    Can I get a refund?

SILNS is sold without refunds — access begins the moment the payment clears — except where the law of your country requires one. The full wording is in the terms.
